Not for use with water!!
I bought this unit in late 2011 for logging tracks while sailing in my laser dinghy - it was to be a replacement for my Garmin 101 wrist unit (which does not have USB). Exposure to water is really only splashing and very brief (no more than 1 minute) minor immersions in water to no more than 2ft in depth. The unit failed first time out. During my first sail with it, the unit was immersed in water for roughly 30 seconds max. Water filled in behind the LCD screen. I may have bought a faulty unit but I would have expected far more than a failure first time out given its purported water rating (IPX7 - designation means the GPS case can withstand accidental immersion in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes). I will be reverting to my 101 as this still works brilliantly as a data logger even after 5 years of dinghy sailing.

Great Little Gadget
I bought the i-gotU GT-800 Pro tracker after a very disappointing experience using my old Sony GPS-CS1 on a day visit to London. The Sony GPS is a first generation device and hence only works with an unobstructed line of sight to the orbitting satellites. Hence, most of my day in London wasn't tracked, whwereas my brother-in-law, using his i-gotU, was ableto track and tag all his photographs, even those taken inside the Natural History musem! I have since been out on two trips, one in the city of Bath, and one into the surrounding countryside and the i-gotU captured every step of the way. What I especially like about the GT-800 Pro is the LCD display, so I can check my position & altitude (which is very handy to when trying to find your exact location on an OS map!), the distance covered, time taken etc. which you can't normally do on a GPS tracker. The fact that it can also be used a cycle computer or for analysing your running regime is an added bonus. It is also a lot cheaper than the equivalent Garmin running or cycling computers. What is amazing is how much they managed to fit into such a small device. My only quibble is that although it is supplied with a wrist strap and bike fixing, I would have liked a carabiner to attach it to my rucksack or belt loop.
